Built in 1865 or more specifically it was re-constructed on its current site after the original church became dilapidated, It does not have many of the features you would find in older (1600s) churches found throughout the island as a result. It is much smaller than other parish churches for one and does not have any burials beneath its alter or down its centre aisle. It has only a few monuments and its cemetery has only 19th century graves.
It is located across the road from the parish’s courthouse & fort. In close proximity is also a cenotaph.
